proper corona admin, vol 90 - rolling the stop sign

Yesterday's post was inspired in part by my returning to the original for a closer look at its first thought - we rarely just stop, preferring to invent any reason to keep going. I got the seed for that thought from James Baldwin's The Cross of Redemption, from which I understood the danger of the extraordinary measures we Americans take to preserve our routines, customs, and traditions. Well, Thanksgiving is down, and we have Christmas coming up; lord help anyone who invites me to a New Year's party.

Endnote

I didn't realize until it was too late that I'd misrepresented "Proper Lab-min" in yesterday's post - those ideas were from my trash, which is entirely different from the "let's see what's cooking" spirit of the original. My apologies! In my defense, I was almost done and, as you know, sometimes it's hard to stop.
