Hi all - we'll skip the first post from the series as it was mostly filled with (silly) jokes, references to prior TOA posts, and hardly got into the election at all. We instead go straight to the second installment in the series, which broadly focused on Question 1 - should a second slots parlor exist in Massachusetts?
As I reread the post, one line jumped out at me - it referenced an idea I've heard from time to time that certain people feel they do not "see color" in the context of race. I think this kind of comment is almost always well-intended, a way to say "I only care about what's on the inside", but it's a reckless expression - if you don't see color, you turn away from the challenges faced by people different from you, and become a lesser voter.
Spoiler alert - Question 1 was rejected by 60% of voters.
